CLUB COMPETITION RULES and REGULATIONS
The Competition Secretary shall be responsible for making the Draw’s using a computerised Draw Generator.
The Club Competition Secretary shall control all Club Competitions and their decision shall be final.
Competitions will be posted on the Club Notice Board at the start of the Outdoor Season.
Matches will be played by arrangement or ON A SET DATE up to but not including the Clubs Finals Day.
A list of members contact details can be obtained from the Club Secretary.
Members are to pay all Green Fees for all Rounds except Finals Day.
Members that are unable to make the Club Finals Day are requested to:
Retire from any Competition entered by giving their Opponent the Match before reaching the final stages of the relevant Competition.
Refrain from entering any Club Competitions for the Season.
So far as their directions can be applied the, Laws/Rules of Bowls shall control all Club Competitions subject to anything contained in these rules.
Eligibility:
No Member shall allow their name to be submitted in the competitions of any other Affiliated Bowling Club.
Competitions shall be confined to bonafide members of Hastings Rosemount Bowling Club, on the Proviso that all Club Subscriptions have been paid.
Championship Singles (21 up) All Club Members. 100 Up Singles (All Club Members.
Championship Pairs (21 ends) All Club Members. Drawn Pairs (21 ends) All Club Members.
Two Wood Pairs (21 ends) All Club Members. Ladies Singles 21 up (Currently not played)
The following only applies to PLAY BY DATES not PLAY ON DATES
Preliminary and Round Stages:
The first named drawn shall be termed the Challenger/Challengers and the second the Opponent/Opponents.
The closing date of the Round may be counted as one of these dates, if the Opponent fails to accept one of these dates or agree to another suitable date then the Competition Secretary may issue both competitors with a playing date.
Failure by ONE or BOTH competitors to comply with this ruling may result in DISQUALIFICATION from that Competition.
If a player or team is not ready or present to play within 15 minutes after the time fixed for that round, the other party may claim a walk-over.
A claim by any Competitor to be awarded the game must be made by the CLAIMANT on the day of the Competition or in writing to reach the Competition Secretary within 5 DAY’S of the date of the game that was to have been played.
The choice of rink will be the Challengers privilege.
Rinks will be allocated on Finals Day.
Matches must be played on Green 1, Rinks 1 – 6 or Green 2 Rinks 7 – 12 depending on availability.
The following only applies to PLAY ON DATES not PLAY BY DATES
Preliminary and Round Stages:
Matches will be played on a SET DATE.
Players must make every effort to attend on the SET DATES.
If you cannot attend on the day you must let the Competition Secretary know and arrange to play the Match ASAP.
If a player or team is not ready or present to play within 15 minutes after the time fixed for that round, the other party may claim a walk-over.
Rinks will be Drawn on the Day.
The Competition Secretary reserves the right to alter Start Times and Set Dates with reasonable notice.
Markers and Score Cards:
Markers must be used in ALL Singles Matches.
The Challenger is responsible for appointing Markers in the Preliminary/Round Stages of the Competition.
In the Finals the Competition Secretary shall appoint the Markers.
Score cards will be provided.
On completion of matches the score cards duly checked and signed by both Players or Skips in the case of Team Competitions to be returned to the designated place in the Clubhouse or given/sent to the Competition Secretary within 48 hours.
The Winners of any Competition are responsible for returning the score cards.
Conditions:
Two Trial Ends will be allowed in all Competitions.
On the day of a Competition NO PLAYER shall play on the Rink before the start of the Competition except in the Trial Ends.
Any Disputes or Complaints over any Match/Game shall be put to the Competition Secretary within 48 hours for consideration / ruling.
The Competition Secretary’s decision shall be FINAL.
Dress For all rounds up to the Finals:
Dress for Competitors shall be ‘Greys’ with White / Club Shirts above the waist.
For all Finals the Dress for Competitors shall be ‘Whites'
Dress for Markers shall be 'Greys' throughout.
